Non-English strings in Non-English Outlook - how to handle

R

Roy from Berkeley

We have a project management addon that links with Outlook. We use the
categories to stand for individual projects, and bring in the task
information under each category. We have translations into French, German,
Danish, Swedish, and Dutch. We recently discovered that the French version
was not working correctly with Outlook 2000 in French, because the word
"category" in English is different from "Catégories" in French. Questions:
is there a way to query Outlook to find out the local word for category? Or,
is there a list of prompt strings for different languages that we could use
to set up our own table of terms?

Unfortunately, the localized names are not documented anywhere I know of. It
might be helpful if you showed a code snippet to illustrate where you think
you need to use localized strings. Property names and AdvancedSearch search
strings should be the same in all languages, but Find and Restrict property
names will want to be localized.
