Norton AntiSpam times-out downloading on some e-mail messages

Problem: Norton AntiSpam 2004 times-out downloading on some e-mail
messages

I download e-mail messages using Outlook 2002 through POP3. About 2 or more
times a day it hits a particular spam message and cannot download it. So
all of the messages coming in after that are also not downloaded. It will
continue to download other POP boxes.

Workaround:
The way I get past it is to disable AntiSpam, download some e-mails (the
first of which will be the problem e-mail) and then I reactivate the
AntiSpam. This sounds easy, but then I have to do this a few times a day
and then sometimes when I turn it back on, the AntiSpam decides it does not
want to mark mail as spam until I reboot! The e-mails that cause this
problem are certain spam messages that are either an image or those kind
that have a box with a message in it - you know the ones: prescription
drugs, sometimes mentioning Canadian on top of the box. It seems to be the
same dozen or so e-mails that always get stuck.

For the past 2 months, I have searched Symantec's KB, Microsoft's KB, and
Google group postings and I have not found a mention of this problem. I'm
not sure what occurred just before this problem started. It might have been
LiveUpdate patch of AntiSpam or it might have been a MS update/patch - I
don't know.

Help is very much appreciated
