not all exchange contacts synching with entourage

Hi

I have just installed Entourage and have connected it to my Exchange
server. My email and calendar appear to synch properly, but not my
contacts. Out of 2680 contacts on the Exchange server, only 2071
appear in Entourage. I use only the top level contact folder and no
categories per se. It seems that the excluded contacts are ones that I
use frequently -- including the Global Address List from Exchange. Has
anyone seen this problem before? (I have tried creating a new identity
and resetting synch several times)

Thanks

That's really weird (and unheard of for me).
The GAL will not be added to your personal address book in Entourage.
Especially since ENtourage can only query the GAL through LDAP and not
actually browse through it through IMAP like Outlook does.
I wonder wether there could be something special about the way these
entries were originally added to your address book. Could you clarify
what you did to get them in the AB for me ???

I really don't know what differences these excluded addresses have --
there are so many. They tend to be (at ;least the ones I recognize as
missing) all my frequently used contacts.
I have been looking for a way to "force" my entire AB from outlook
into entourage, but entourage doesn't seem to be able to read a .PST
file.

any ideas on this thread of forcing?

thanks

Yeah, but there is no reason why frequently used contacts would be
anydifferent than the others for Entourage (or the Exchange server).

It sure can't, but Paul Berkowitz created a great shareware that can
help import the files in Entourage:

I really don't understand why you can't get the entries to sync. There
has to be something differnet about them (that's why I wondered wether
they were simply entries imported from the GAL).
