Not Connected

I am testing out Entourage SP2, and I have a problem where next to the
account name in the left pane, it tells me that I'm not connected. Work
offline is not checked. I have deleted the Entourage account, deleted the
database, and even deleted the OS X Users folder and recreated everything,
and still it says that it is not connected. I can access the internet, so
that is not the problem, and everything worked before SP2. How can I get
Entourage to connect?

I have a very similar problem from my home computer when accessing our
Exchange server via a VPN. The VPN is working and I can access anything
else net related, but Entourage says I am working offline even through
the box is not checked. This is happening at all of our home computers.
Also, this happened before the SP2 upgrade. I did the upgrade hoping it
might fix it, but it did not.

Does your VPN interface under System Preferences/Network have the same proxy
settings as you use on your work machine? In our case, we were having people
unable to connect because they had a proxy set, but not the right proxy
exceptions, and the proxy would point them right back onto the internet
where the mail server would not be available.

I have the same problem. I was previously able to connect to Exchange
when using Office X and then 2004 Test Drive. Then, for no apparent
reason, without changing any settings, I was not able to receive, but
was able to send. So I figured it was a Test Drive problem and
purchased the license. And now, I can neither send nor receive. I get a
"Logon Failure: unknown user name or bad password. ..." But I've
verified the password and user name, replaced the Identities file,
rebuilt the database, reconfigured all the settings, etc. I'm able to
ping the Exchange server from Terminal (both the domain and the IP
address) and able to access email with Web Client, but not with
Entourage. HELP PLEASE!
