If cell a1 is not blank, then I want 998 in cell c1, else 999. How do I write
this?
I tried =IF(NOT(ISBLANK(A1,998,999).

Its true that you don't need the NOT but your formula would have worked if
you had closed the brackets.


=IF(NOT(ISBLANK(A1)),998,999)
