Notes are missing from contacts after importing personal folder

I switched to a domain on a server running windows small business server 2003
and was trying to import my boss' personal folder into his Mailbox.
Everything appears to have imported fine, but the notes that were in the
contacts are incomplete. He pulled up a contact and said there were notes in
it that are now gone. Where did these go?
