Notes created in Outlook don't show up in Entourage

I'm running the latest version of Entourage with all applicable
updates. I use Notes extensively in Outlook, but when I fire up
Entourage on my Macbook, none show up. Is this by design? If not, how
do I make them show up in Entourage.

Thanks.

Hi BocaBoy!

Unfortunately, Notes and Tasks don't get synched to your Exchange Server
when using Entourage.

One workaround for Notes is to do this:

1. Create a folder in Entourage (or Outlook) called something like "My
Notes". I don't recommend using "Notes" because in my testing this
folder in Entourage was actually the "Notes" view/folder in Outlook but
they didn't work together.

2. To create a note select the folder on either machine and create a new
"Post" (File --> New --> Post). After writing your note -post- it to the
folder. A Post is like a mail message that you create and save to a mail
folder rather than sending to someone.

Hope this helps! bill

What a bummer. I really use Notes extensively. I notice that for a
long time they didn't work with Windows Mobile either. Do you know
what it is about Notes that makes them so difficult to sync?

Thanks again for your answer. Not what I wanted to hear, but I
appreciate it!

I certainly understand your disappointment.

I suspect that it's not a matter of difficulty but rather a matter of
demand and priority. Entourage is not 100% Exchange compatible as is
Outlook but it also hasn't been around very long either as an Exchange
client. The Macintosh Business Unit at Microsoft has made great progress
since Entourage X 10.1.4 (the first Exchange compatible Entourage
client) and many of us expect more in Entourage 2008. They probably felt
that Notes support wasn't as important as other features and moved it
down the list.

Send Microsoft your thoughts for Entourage 2008 using the Help --> Send
Feedback mechanism in any Office application.

Hope this helps! bill

Nice idea Bill. I never thought of doing that!

I can't take credit for the idea but I can sure take credit for passing
it around. :)
