notes in Calendar

I run MS Office X on a G4/400. OSX 10.3.3
I would like to be able to post a note in a calendar item after the
date. Is seems that if the item is a re-occuring one there is not way to
add to the items unless one wants to change all of the rest.
I note that a calendar item that is just a one-day items can be added to
after the date.

Any suggestions for what I need to do?

Create a note and use the Link command to link it to that event.
