Does anybody have a clue how to, or when MS will fix this unacceptable bug?

Notifications in Entourage 2008 are working just fine for me. I see no
problem.

Maybe if you post details about your setup and your problem then someone
can work with you to fix it.

I have newly installed & upgraded from MS Office 2004; Entourage Ver.
12.1.9. Latest installed update 12.1.9. Sounds did not work from first
launch.
I have read numerous entries in other forums that Leopard 10.5.6 "breaks"
Entourage sounds and MS has not posted a fix. I have Leopard 10.5.7 and mine
are still "broken".

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

When Office 2008 was first released there was a problem, but that was fixed.

First check Entourage --> Preferences "Notification". Make sure that the
appropriate sounds are checked. Click the speaker icon next to them to test
your sound setup. If you can hear sounds from other applications, but not
the Entourage sounds have a look at this Apple Knowledge Base article.

An application may have set your audio output settings too high. If that
fails and you have GarageBand, try opening and closing it.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately the garage band suggestion did not
work. I have read numerous articles about how this is still an issue.

Are you using fast user switching? (Entourage 2008 will only play
sounds for one user.) I found a workaround for the second user - use a
different sound set.
