Notifications automatically populated on recurring tasks

In Entourage 2008:
1. Create a recurring task. Leave the Reminder turned off.
2. Mark the first instance as Completed or delete one instance.
3. The Recurring Task appears on the day of the next scheduled instance, as expected, but the Reminder has been turned on.

This behaviour (which I believe to be a bug) was nor present in Entourage 2004 or earlier.

I'm seeing the same thing and also believe it to be a bug. This and the weird workings of My Day are quite annoying.
