notifications that stopped working

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)
Email Client: pop

I've tried to turn them on in Entourage. I also tried to find the Microsoft Office Notification but that doesn't appear anywhere on my computer. I, too, checked the Microsoft Database Daemo in the startup in my system preferences without success. Can anyone help me please!!!

Panther is getting a bit old. Be sure you have updated it to it's latest
update. Mac OS X version 10.2.8 or later is required.

Path to Notifications:

"/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Microsoft Office Notifications"
