Numbered list only goes up to 9, then 0, then starts at 1

Just as the subject says. I turn on Numbered List (I'm composing in HTML) and start working. Each time I hit return, E creates a new line with a subsequent number. When I finish #9 and hit return, it adds a new line with number 0 (zero). When I finish #0, it adds a new line with number 1.

When I had E 2004, it would keep going to 11 (like Spinal Tap!), 12, 13, etc

Why is this happening? How to fix it?

I do not see this problem in Entourage 2008 12.0.1 with U.S. English.
Are you updated to 12.0.1 and are you using something other than U.S.
English?

Also, are you using an unusual font? My test was with Calibri.

I am using 12.0.1 with US English. I am using Geneva, but it happens with Times and Courier too. This didn't happen with Entourage 2004.

Hmm...

This isn't a common problem or else we'd have seen more problems
reported. Something with your Mac or your Entourage identity is having
problems.

Try using Entourage --> Switch Identity... and test this problem in a
new identity.

If that doesn't work then create a new Mac OS X user account and test
the problem in Entourage under that new account.

You might also look at something like Cocktail for cleaning font caches.

Hope this helps!

When I setup a new TEST identity, it works perfectly. So, that's nice, except I don't know what to do next!

This indicates possible corruption with your Database, which is where
your mail data is stored.

Because you're using an Exchange account I suggest not trying to repair
your database but rather continue to use the TEST identity. Set up your
Exchange account in that identity and allow it to synchronize your data.

You can copy the Rules and Signatures files from your old identity to
the new one. They are found in your home folder in ~/Documents/Microsoft
User Data/Office 2008 Identities/<your old identity> alongside your
Database file.

If you've archived mail into the folders "On My Computer" then you can
drag those folders to your Desktop to create .mbox archives, switch
identities and drag them back in. You'll need to do this for each
sub-folder as well.

Hope this helps!

Great. Thanks for the detailed how-to for repair.
I have another problem with my contacts all being in Japanese format - should I write a separate post for this? It was happening in Entourage 2004 as well as now in 2008...

I'd suggest starting a different thread. For others who are searching
the archives a new thread is easier to follow.
