numbering does not add up

everytime i press enter during a numberation, the following number is the
same as the last number.... how can i solve this very annoying problem

In the Customize Numbered List dialog box, does the number display
with a grey background? If not, it has been typed in (which explains
why it doesn't change). Delete the number and re-insert the correct
one via the "Number style" box.

yes, they all have a grey background when i click them....

What often happens is that the numbering levels get out of order. When this
happens, the easiest thing to do is clear all the numbering and rebuild it
step by step.
