O2K Opening Mail Attachment prompt

Suddenly for one boss today, anytime he clicks to open a zip attachment
in Outlook 2000, he gets the security prompt about whether to open or
save the zipped attachment. Unfortunately, the tick box for "Always ask
before opening this type of file" is greyed out. I have tried logging
in as Administrator, but same thing. I have searched high and low on MS
and the Internet but can't find an article how to get the "Always
ask..." box ungreyed.

I will say this. Everything was working fine prior to me applying the
latest XP security update (KB840374). So, I set up an identical client
on a separate box with O2K using SMTP (just as on his computer) along
with the security update and the tick box is available!!!!!

So, I don't get it. Any ideas! Suffice to say my boss is incredible
pissed right now, so I would really appreciate any ideas.

Right now I am looking into Slovak Techs Attachment Options (I'm not
sure that that applies, though) and a registry fix someone posted here
from Slipstick.com relating to opening .exe attachments (so, I'm not
sure that I will find the answer there either).

THANKS!

Curtis
