OE Question: Spell Checker

I want to spell check my e-mails.
Under TOOLS the spell checker is "ghosted" or not available.
Under HELP for spell checker it says:
You must have MS Word , Excel or Power Point. I have all three.
How do I get OE to recognize that I have the requirements?
