Can someone tell me if the "email me when replies are posted"
notification for a reply to a question works? I check the box but
have never received one. I receive an email of the question I asked
but never an email that someone replied to. Am I missing something? I
really don;t want subscribe to the whole forum and get every single
question. Just the issues I'm involved in. Would appreciate the help
as there is nowhere on the site that explains this or a way to add a
signature with the version, equipment and other redundant information
most people want to know in order to answer a question

I see you have an officeformac.com address, which means you must be
posting your question from Microsoft's website.
Their website is just a portal like Google Groups or dozens of other
websites that have tied in to the Usenet newsgroups. Your question is
going to everyone on Usenet and not to Microsoft.
Think of Usenet like Central Park in New York City and then think of
Microsoft and Google as companies that have put up big gateways to
Central Park for people to pass through. Not everyone in Central park
came through Microsoft's gateway.
You need to use Microsoft's feedback link on its pages if you want to
