Office 07 Spell Checker doesn't work.

Ok so I have followed every piece of advice on this page. The language is
set, it is enabled to spell check as I type, I have checked the registry for
the over ride file, I've followed Mrs. Barnhill's great page's instruction.
I've even talked with the "wonderful" microsoft support team. They went
through my registry, and had me install and re install. To no avail. Spell
check doesn't and will not work in no way shape or form. Any ideas?

Hi Ortamenxs,

Unfortunately can't see which 'page' you're referring to from here, but in
Word 2007 check in
Office Button=>Word Options=>Add-ins
to see if the proofing tools are disabled.

If they are not disabled, then close Word and restart it, holding the
control key while restarting Word, to enter Office Safe Mode.

In a new document type a word that you know is spelled wrong (such as shaap
for 'shape') then press F7.

If you do not get the speller correction suggestion,, select the Word then
use
View=>Proofing=>Set Language (red checkmarked icon).
and verify that (a) that Word shows English as the selected language (b)
that English shows the 'abc' logo next to it, and (c) that neither check box
in that dialog is turned on.

The proofing add in is not disabled, the language is set. So both of those
are fine.

However I do get spell check to work in safe mode, if I restart in normal
mode I again loose spell check.

Thanks.
