Office 200 Invalid Key

I originally had two computers, say computer A (best) and computer B (old).

I have now bought an even better computer, say computer C.

I removed my Office 2003 from computer A and installed it on computer C - no
problem.

I then removed Office 2000 from computer B and tried to install it on
computer A but with no l;uck.

I am told that the product key is invalid and yet it is excatly the same key
that I used to install it on the old computer.

Can anyone advise me on how to proceed?

Was the Office 2000 an OEM copy that came with computer B? If so, it
cannot be moved to computer A.

No its not an OEM.

I have lost the original plastic box in which the disk arrived so that I
only have my written copy of the key.

Thank you for the fast reply.

I have now found my CDROM case and the key I have tried to use is the same
as that on the case.

I imagine that \i have used it too many times.

Humm, same as on the case? OEM is not transferable.
