office 2000 product key problem

I have the original set of discs for office 2000 .. it is installed on
a machine that is 5 years old. I just got a new computer and tried to
install it and won't accept the product key.
The product key is right on the back of the jewel case
FR3JC-F2D6Y-2XXFD-8RGHY-D33RW

I also have the bar code from the original box the discs came in..

Any thoughts on why it won't install?

Well...unfortunately that is probably your only option at this point.
The key SHOULD work. I know that I've reinstalled Office 2000 after
years and it has always worked. So I don't know what else to tell you.

Since it doesn't work for you...MS will have to advise you...my guess
is that they'll give you a new key???
