Office 2000/W2000 uninstall/reinstall unsuccessful-what now?

Administrator, trying to reinstall Office 2000 on W2000 Pro. Prior install
not completely cleaned up. Install won't allow me to choose directory under
custom install ("C:\Program Files\etc" grayed out). No room on C:\drive to
install. No MSI file on HD. No trace of Office programs in Control Panel
uninstall. Removed Micosoft Office hive from registry, still no go. What do
I do now?
