I have office 2000 installed on my laptop but I do not
think it has been registered. I bought office 2000
professional and would like to install and register my
product. my question is if I install this product what
would happen to the files I already have on my pc? Will
it affect these files in any way?

Your files should be fine as long as they are not in the Office folder. If
you have the file in My Documents they should not be touched. You were not
clear if you have two Office 2000 or if they are going on the same laptop.
If we are talking about two version of Office 2000 on one machine, then my
suggestion is to remove the other version first before installing Office
2000 Professional. Installing two diferent version, such as Standard and
Professional, can cause all kinds of problems.
