I am wanting to install Office 2003 using a custom MST created with the CIW. The problem is that I want to use a GPO to distrubute the package, which means that I can not use the setup.exe, which since it does not run the cache is not being created (or is being deleted after the install is complete). Is it possible to install Office 2003 and have it leave the cache behind without using setup.exe?

I have tried to set the DELETEABLECACHE property to 0 and the CDCACHE property to 0 in my custom MST and it still does not work.

Any help would be greatly appericated

No, according to http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/two/ch3/DepC06.htm

"Setup creates a local installation source by default in Office 2003,
but only when you install Office from the CD or a compressed CD image."

Maybe you can try some sort of MSI-wrapper for the setup.exe and install
this wrapper rather than the original MSI.
