Office 2003 coexisitng with Office XP

I have installed Access 2002 (ofice XP version) with Office 2003 suite. I get
a error message when I start Excel 2003. It says some thing like 'There are
no Office assistant characters present on the system. Please run set up in
maintenance mode and install atleast one character'.

I could not find any hot fix for this. Microsoft says that this is a bug .
How do i resolve this?

Disabling the "Assistant" is one way to resolve the issue.
