Office 2003 install kills WORKS word processor

David,

Thanks for your comments, but I still need a fix. My wife
and I use MS Office professionally but there are many kid-
friendly features in WORKS, like book report wizzards,
etc. My elementary age kids have a history using WORKS
and my oldest is about to begin a technology magnet Middle
School which instucts using WORKS as its main suite, again
becuase of kid friendliness. So I still want to have both
Office and WORKS functional. You'd think MS products
wouldn't conflict with eachother, eh? I'd still be
greatful for anyfurther ideas about how to perform a fix?
Again, Thanks!

Gary

When installing two versions of an MS 'Office' product install earlier
version first then,
Since both products use Word you would have to amend any works/word
shortcuts eg WksWord, prior to installing later version using the Custom
Install method into a different Folder.
As I said I dont use works so am not sure of default install folder
structure of works.
Afraid I dont remember procedure involved to ensure correct version opens
when you double click a *.doc file - was it as simple as rename the exe? -
As it stands you might be advised to remove both frm yr sys then reinstall,
check the folder structure of Works prior to Office install.
Office installs by default into c:\Program Files\................Office\
