Office 2003 installation blows away picture associations

D

DerekO

I have a customized installation of Microsoft Office Professional.
Customized with the Custom Installation Wizard. Being installed by MSI.

Problem is that it is blowing away my users picture associations. I don't
care about fixing them, I can do that. But I need to find out why it is
happening and stop it. I'm about to do a corporate wide deployment and I
don't want to have to worry about picture associations and where they pointed
on each machine.

Please advise.

Hi Derek,

Can you be more specific? My guess is that
it's the setup options for the Office 2003 Picture Manager
that may be doing this.

I think what he's getting at is that MSPhotoEditor gets removed when
installing Office03 and jpeg associations are changed to MSPicture
Manager. The problem is that jpeg printing is only possible if the
client is WinXP or above. I have the same issue. Our WinXP upgrade
will be later this summer so I need a solution now. I'm considering
installing PhotoEditor via OfficeXP as a separate app using SMS. Does
anyone else have a better idea?
