Office 2003 licensing

Hi - quick question about licencing.

When I installed office 2003 on my laptop, i actually read the licence
agreement before I ticked 'agree'! Near the beginning, it said that I was
allowed to install one copy on my desktop AND a second copy on my laptop. Is
this true? I was under the impression that you could only activate the copy
on one machine, but the license agreement seems to contradict that.

Also, am I allowed to make an .iso image of the installation disk for backup
purposes? I could find no mention of this in the licence agreement. Will it
work if I reimage a CD with it in the event that my original gets lost /
damaged?

How cool if I can! Could someone in the know let me know?!

Yes, it's true, if your EULA says so. A retail copy can be installed on two
of your systems: one laptop and one desktop.

As for the .iso, I don't know...but I don't think I'd worry too much about
it as long as you have only installed it on the appropriate number of
machines per your license.

If you're terribly interested or concerned about the legality of making a
backup for your own archival purposes, then you could call a licensing
specialist at Microsoft (for free) at 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday,
6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific time) and ask to speak directly to a
Microsoft licensing specialist. Worldwide customers can use the Guide to
Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in their
locations.

I've called them and have had good luck speaking with a real person for
free.
