Office 2003 Professional Trial

My trial period for Office 2003 Professional Trial has just expired.
Sometime in the next few days, I plan to purchase Office 2003 Standard
Upgrade. (I have Office 2000 Small Business Edition which I uninstalled
during the installation of the trial version.)

Obviously, I want to install the Office 2003 Standard Upgrade in the least
painful manner possible. So I ask...
1) Can I simply convert the trial version using the product key from
the Office 2003 Standard Upgrade?
2) Is it better to uninstall the trial version prior to installing the
upgrade? If so, how do I preserve my personal settings, etc.?

Negative....what you want to do is leave your current
install and call Microsoft to obtain a new key that has
no expiration. All it does is reactivates for permanent
use. There is no need to completely reinstall the whole
program, and yes it will delete all your customer
settings if you do so.
