Office 2003 Student and teacher will not load on new HP laptop, .

I purchased office 2003 Stu. & Teach edition 6 months back. I loaded program
on desktop, running xp-sp1. after some trouble with office programs, I
removed office 2003 then reinstalled 2003 to this desktop. Then I was hit
with a bad virus, had to reformat hard drive. reinstalled office rd tim2003,
3rd time on this computer. All is running ok now with office 2003 on my
desktop. Problem is: I cannot install office 2003 on a newly purchased HP
laptop- running xp-sp2. DVD/CD-RW Drive on laptop doesnot recognize the 2003
Office CD install disc. All seems to be ok with laptop drive as no problem
installing other software--HELP any ideas appreciated.
