Office 2007 active window highlighting

Beemer

I have always relied on the active Window in any Microsoft software to have
a highlighted or darker border than any non active window. In Office 2007 I
note that the border of the active window is not any different from any
window behind it.

Because of this I am frequently clicking on the menus of the baclground
application instead of the active one. Many times I have saved the wrong
application and even shut it down in error.

I am using standard Windows XP theme

Please advise

Hi Beemer,

Is the Office button logo in the Office app fully colored? If not, see if 'high contrast' has been turned on in the Accessibility
options in Windows control panel.

For me using the Windows XP standard color Theme with the blue Office 2007 color choice the Office Windows (both when selected and
when background) have an even lighter shade of blue than the 'inactive' windows choices, but it can be a bit subtle. Have you tried
switching to a different color theme in Windows, applying that and then switching back?

The Quick Access toolbar on mine, being somewhat full <g> is likely what I visually pick up on when looking for the Office windows
if not going to the taskbar or using Alt+Tab

Bob,

Checked "high contrast" but it is not checked. Changed scheme to silver
but problem still exists.

thanks anyway,

This is a huge pain for me as well. Vista has the same problem. I hope
Microsoft get's the idea that this needs to be fixed (or a workaround
provided), soon. Power users should be kept in mind...
