Office 2007 Beta dislikes my 1 Gig of memory

P

Phlip

Office Setup:

I downloaded the Office 2007 Beta and installed it, and I can't turn on any
product.

If I try to launch any 2007 product, it instantly complains I don't have
enough memory. All I get is "Windows is low on memory, or your hard disk is
full. Try closing..." programs and deleting files. Naturally, I have done
that, and increased the swapper file size to 2048.

Here's the Task Manager's opinion:

Physical Memory (K)
Total 1,161,712
Available 494,276
System Cache 717,292

Aaaaaand I got this much real-estate:

$ df
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
c: 38G 37G 843M 98% /cygdrive/c

I could continue to dump versions and such, but I'd rather know exactly what
to look at.

Do you have Norton AV installed? If yes, then uncheck the option for the
Office Plug-ins. Do you have Adobe Acrobat 6/7 (full program, not the
reader) installed? If yes, uninstall or disable the pdfmaker in Outlook and
Word. Do you have Expressions Web Designer Beta installed? If yes, remove
it as there is a known conflict between the betas.
