Office 2007 bugs

A

Adam Getchell

I'm using the beta of Office 2007.

1) It keeps pestering me to enable Instant Search, but the download for
Windows Desktop Search Beta 3.0 does not support 64-bit

2) I cannot move mail items in Outlook 2007 into other folders (!) Error
message is:

"Cannot move the items. Could not complete the move. The items may have been
already moved or deleted." (Not true, as an inspection of folder will show)

3) All Sent Mail goes into the Outbox, instead of to Sent Items, even when
successfully sent. Possibly related to bug #2.

All the three "bugs" can be fixed from "Tools ---> options"
1- You can disable the "desktop search" pop up from "advanced" button
2- You can setup a default delievery folder for the new emails from
"acounts.." window.
Try to find them yourself or search here if you want to know exactly where
you can locate them.
let us know if you have still "bug #2" after fixing the bug #1 and #3.

Could you give directions as to how to disable "desktop search" from the
Tools\Options dialog? I am unable to find this. Thank you.

Yes, ofcourse.
Follow these instructions:
Tools-->Options-->other-->advance options-->prompt for desktop search
Unselect this box.
Let me know if you could find it.

This option is available only in Office 2007 Beta 2. and exact phrase is:
"Show prompts to download microsoft desktop search"

First off - I have been using Outlook 2007 beta for about a month or so. I'm
very pleased with the results (RSS Feeds is cool).

I do have a bug or issue - from time to time - messages I have sent do not
get sent from the Outbox. I still receive messages and my connection to the
Exchange is always active.

Some resolution options I have tried:
Send and Receive or Send all doesn't have any affect.
Changing the mode to Offline and then online (forcing a synch does not do it).
Then closing Outlook completly and Opening back up usually kicks the Outbox
messages and all is well.

This happens usually about once a day, maybe not that often.

I do understand it is beta so I'm not panicking. But, I'm just checking to
see if this is a know issue or fix.

Thanks,
Rick

You are brilliant :)

I've looked EVERYWHERE to get rid of this pop up, and somehow missed the
most obvious place. Thank you for the great tip!
