office 2007 cd or dvd?

A lot of software comes on a DVD these days. DVD drives are relatively
cheap - maybe it's time to do like I did last summer and swap out your CD
drive for a DVD drive.

The dvd requirement is silly in my opinion, 2 CDs is fine. I am not going
to run out and buy a dvd player just for office 2007. Why do I need a dvd
player? I do a network install to get Fedora Linux. I don't plan on
watching dvds on my computer, I have a TV. Windows XP and all of the driver
discs I have come across are CDs. I backup to a jaz drive. The two things
that I know are dvd are office and vista. Everything else I use is still CD
based and CDs they come on are not full. Vista I can see as a dvd an OS is
big, but office.....

I think I will avoid office 2007 until I get a new PC in a year or two. Hey
I just saved $180. Cool.

I am a student at DePaul University. I would like to get office 2007 but
office is not a part of the MSDNAA. I have to purchase it from
http://mbs.academicsuperstore.com/market/marketdisp.html?PartNo=784349 for
$179.95. The requirements say I need a dvd drive to install office 2007.
Is this true? Why would office 2007 need a dvd? Has office become that
bloated to require a dvd?

Thanks,

Think of the manufacturing costs. Instead of making and shipping two disks.
it can be handled once and be done.

Wouldn't you like it if you could do your work in half the time?

I've never heard that before. No sure why that would be but I suppose it's
possible.

Just
saying. I'd rather all of my software was on DVDs.
