Office 2007 installation error

I have recently purchased a new computer and whilst trying to install Office
Standard 2007 on Vista. I get the error "Office encountered an error during
installation" I get no error code just a close messag box seletion. Any
ideas???

If you have an earlier version of MS Office, you have to uninstall it. You
can use the Control Panel, add/remove programs...if that does not work, use
the Windows Install Cleanup Utility. I have been told by professionals not to
use this WICU to remove MS 2007. You can always contact MS Support, but it's
50-50. My HP support was great and it took 10 minutes compared to 1 week with
MS and still they did not solve or come close to solving the issue.
