We have tried this as well as the outrageously time-wasting steps in KB
article 928218.

Where the #$#@%#$%# is the automated tool to fix this?

Why the #$@#$ is the RTM Office 2007 installer such a piece of #@$@#$ that
is doesn't take care of the problem on its own?

Why is Microsoft making this a partner/customer problem when it's own
moronic developers should be caned (that public punishment for petty
criminals in Singapore) for creating this problem?

I wold have to put 2003 back. seems this trial should be an upgrade

We are very, very well aware of the LIS tool for Office 2007. It doesn't seem
to automate any of the clean-up that is required before Office 2007 is
willing to install itself.

So then what does the LIS tool have to do with clean-up of junk that Beta
Office 2007 left behind, and that standard Office 2007 install won't deal
with on its own?

I downloaded Office 2007 and installed it, I also got the cd version in the
mail directly from Microsoft. In the paperwork it said it auto expired on
2-1-07 (as I believe the one your trying to install also does)
