Office 2007 Refreshh Failed: Can Not Find Product

E

Edward

I have Beta Release Candidate 1 and it just expired yesterday so I downloaded
the Release Candidate 2 that's supposed to extend the Beta's life to March
31, 2007 but when I try to install it, an error message pops up saying it can
not find the software (Beta 1) on my computer ... but it's there!!!
I should add that I had been running a pre-release copy of Office 12 before
I installed Beta 1 a few months ago. Could this have anything to do with it?
If so, what do I do now?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Edward,

The MS Office 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh patch install can only recognize the MS Office 2007 Beta 2 installations. Beta 2 is
available to download for a small fee from the link below.

If you 're refering to MS Office 2007 Beta 1, Technical preview (not made available to the general public by Microsoft), it has to
be uninstalled before installing Office 2007 Beta 2. If you've been saving your files in Beta 1 (not a Release Candidate) in the
..---x new formats they likely won't be usable in later Office 2007 Beta or Final versions and should be saved in legacy .doc, .xls,
..ppt, formats before moving to the newer Beta, which expires in March 2007.

Hi Bob

Thanks for your advice. I shall download the correct program on the weekend.
And regretably, I saved a lot of files with the new extension. Oh well ....
it's a great program nonetheless.
