Hi NG,
I tried to install Office (2000 and/or 2002) on my laptop with XP Home
SP2.
I have complete copies of the installation CD's on a server hard drive -
and have installed both versions of Office on different PC's almost
dozens of times with no problems at all.
But when trying to install Office on the laptop, after a couple of
minutes I get the message "please insert ... [original office CD]".
Since Office 2002 is on DVD and the laptop only has a CD-drive, and
since I don't have the original Office 2000 CD anymore I can't present
the Office Installer with the desired CD-ROM - and it would not accept
burned copies of the CD's.
But anyway - what is the reason that Office Installer does request the
original CD in the first place at all, and does not just use the
installation source path on the hard drive?
And how can I finally make it to any of the Office packages installed on
this laptop?
Thanks, David.P
