I bought Microsoft Office home use program. My lap top got stolen. I like
to install on a new lap top. How can I install on the new computer? It is
giving me error that the 25 letter key is not recognized. Please help me in
this respect

Carey,

You are too cavalier about this. And, it seems, wrong as well. Reading the
Microsoft EULA on http://www.microsoft.com/office/eula/en.mspx for Office XP
products the FIRST paragraph states:
-----------------------
1. GRANT OF LICENSE. Microsoft grants you the following rights provided that
you comply with all terms and
conditions of this EULA:
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or other
device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device
for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.
-----------------------------------
So, there you have it: Note the "AND" above; Microsoft grants the license to
install the software on TWO PCs belonging to same user. So, one was stolen,
that's none of Microsoft's business. Whether first PC is stolen or not, I
still have the right to install the software on second PC. BUT, and a big
BUT: how do I get Microsoft to allow me to do what they licensed me to be
able to do???

Please advise.

Sorry - that is for the retail version. The Home Use program comes from the
Software Assurance program from the OP's employer and has a different EULA.
Home Use licenses are single installation licenses. The OP will need to
apply to the employer for another license or other options.

Sorry, but when your computer was stolen, so was the license
for Microsoft Office. Contact your home owner's insurance
company and file a claim.
