Office programs hang on start up after Office 2000 Re-install

Various Office 2000 Programs were hanging at various times
on my PC.(Running Windows ME) I re-installed Office (which
is an upgrade version)and now the programs hang
immediately at the spalsh screen start up. eg. WORD will
launch but hang before it gets to the User Interface.

I have re-installed several times but made no difference.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Gary, just there is a chance for the problem might not be from Office and
could be associated with Windows Me - as it is one of the worst OS ever
developed.

Try to run all your OS updates and driver updates, and un-install Office and
reinstall it again.
