Office Update 11.2.3 - Lingering Problems

W

I still cannot find the "out-of-office assistant" I was accustomed to
in Outlook. Is that hidden somewhere? And what about the ability to
create an e-mail and set an exact time (in the future) for it to be
sent? Outlook had that feature forever.

With each subsequent OFFICE 2004 update, I keep hoping they'll correct
these glaring errors. Is it me? Am I just too dumb to figure out where
these features were hidden in the programs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Those "features" are not in Entourage.

I assume you are using Entourage on an Exchange server. If so you can still
set your Out of Office on Outlook Web Access.

There's not a built-in feature to send later, but here is a link to a free
AppleScript by uberscripter Paul
Berkowitz that will do just that.

Nope, ENtourage doesn't have it. For POP or IMAP accounts you can create
a rule for OOA and for Exchange accounts, you can set it up on th
Webmail page (it's in the options there).

As far as I'm concerned, there are not "errors" but features that were
(unfortunately) never implemented :-\

The other thing you can do is set up a Rule to reply to ALL messages with
the message of your choice. Enable this rule and disable all other rules.
You'll have to leave your machine on for this to work, however.

Creating an event in the Entourage calendar creates a new Calendar in iCal
called Entourage. Not sure what the point of that is.

iCal doesn't support categories, but instead presents you with multiple
calendars. Entourage supports boths categories and multiple calendars. I
guess the developers at MacBU had to make a decision and they chose to
sync calendar to calendar.
I would MUCH rather have a pref allowing me to sync categories to iCal
calendars which feels a lot more natural to me (especially since I only
use one calendar in Entourage).
With Contacts it wiped my Entourage contacts and brought across all the ones
from Address Book. But without the Categories.

Yeah, that's a real pain. It's also not synching pictures :-\ Really sad
:-(
I am not sure Sync services is what I had hoped it would be. Could be me
being a bit dim though.

Let's hope they'll add more options and features in the future :-\
In the meanwhile, I have to admit that the current implementation still
really makes my life easier.
