Office Update Nightmare

I found that their is a security update for Word 2000, I download it and the
program asks me to insert the Office 200 CD. I am missing the first CD so I
pop in the second, it doesn't except it, and the download is cancelled. Who
ever came up with this idea should be fired from Microsoft. Why not give us
options to use the CD key or either of the disks, and if were missing data to
install the updates, just let us download it. Sometimes I think Microsoft
wants their customers to suffer.

The CD key does not contain support files that the update requires, and
neither does CD2 of the set?.. why is it Microsoft's fault here?.. you
lost/misplaced CD1..

you might be able to download patches by doing a search, in date order, at ms office site. but install will probably ask for CD
insert.

Because the files ON the first CD aren't on the second CD. The only
"suffering" is self imposed. Didn't your mother teach you to take care
of your toys when you were a child? Go have it out with her. Microsoft
employees aren't responsible for running around after you picking up
your belongings.
