Office Upgrade Question

R

Raymond Ford

I'm reading the Office2004-Tech-Guarantee-Coupon and it says that the Office
V.X Standard edition could be upgraded for free AND/OR the Standard Edition
could be upgraded to the Professional edition for $90.

But the coupon mentions product codes like 731-00463 or 731-00470. My serial
number on the box is X09-07872-M. I got Office for $200 when I bought my 15"
Titanium Powerbook.

The link for the coupon on the Mactopia site is:

Thanks in Advance - RFord

I hope that's not your real serial number. If it is, you can bet MS
will add it to their list of CD keys that have been compromised, and
you will find yourself having to contact their technical support at the
next upgrade to get a new CD key, and provide proof of your purchase.
Loads of fun!!!

For future reference, *never* give out your CD key in any type of
public forum, or give it to friends. This is the same as pirating. You
will be allowing others to use your key to fire up a pirated copy of
Office.

If it wasn't your serial number, then please disregard this letter ;-)

That's not a CD-Key. CD Keys are 25 digit keys.

Serial Numbers are like product numbers. All I want to know is what's my
product code/serial number and if it upgradeable for free. What's written on
the disk is X09-07872-M. It does not seem to match the format for the
Product Codes on the Get-2004-For-Free coupon ( i.e. 731-00463 ).

Any ideas?

Thanks - RFord

Sweet! I forget how many letters there are in those things. Been a
couple years since I had to type mine in ;-)
