Office XP license on third machine

I have Office XP Pro that my husband installed on his machine before we got
married. When his machine got fried, we installed and validdated it on mine.
Now we have a new machine at home and our old hard drive where Office XP was
installed is slaved in an external hard drive. When we try to use the
application, it asks us to validate the installation via internet, but when
we attempt this, it says that this software has been previously validated on
two machines, (his old, and my old machines) and is not available to be used
on thie new machine (where it is slaved).

That's the situation - is there a solution?
