I had to have my hard drive reformatted and lost my
product key for my office XP pro. I can install it but
when I try to open one of the application, it asks me for
the product key which I do not have. One of the other
responses mentioned a'jelly bean' software code, what is
that? I have the media content cd installed, is it the
same product code? It askes for 25 digits but ones I
found using the microsoft instruction page are longer? Is
there a way I can find this key?

The magical jellybean program only works on drives that have not been
formatted. If you purchased this version at retail, you can contact
Microsoft for a replacement key. If you purchased it with your computer, you
can contact the OEM.

To obtain a replacement PID for a lost Microsoft installation ID, contact
either Microsoft (if purchased retail) or the computer manufacturer if the
software came with the computer.

You can contact MS (800) 360-7561 about obtaining a replacement PID..

Hope this helps.

After TOO many talks and e-mails with Dell (India) they
told me they could not help me with find the product key,

the US and will also conract microsoft per your
instructions. Thank you! This is so frustrating and i
can't afford to go and buy another CD.

Microsoft will *NOT* assist you. Milly only said that because she didn't
know it was OEM. All support - including replacement keys and media - for
OEM supplied software is the responsibility of the manufacturer. Microsoft
does not, will not and, indeed, cannot assist with OEM licences.
