Hi,
We have a new Windows 2003 Terminal server with Office XP (Dutch) and all
available updates installed. With the previous Windows 2000 Terminal Server
and Office 2000 it was possible to enter a partial filename when opening
files. After pressing Enter all files containing the partial text were
showed in the filelist. With Office XP I need to enter a asterisk before and
after the partial filename to establish the same results. Even stranger when
I see that the partial filename without asterisks does work in Office 2003
(we do not have licenses for Office 2003 and will not upgrade, blame the
boss). This is for all Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
teh same.
Is this a bug in Office XP or just a function that was left out during
development and came back with Office 2003? Can I change the settings so it
is possible to enter the partial name without asterisks (is much faster and
more efficient)?
Jeroen
