Office XP Upgrade

I have a pc that has Office XP Standard on iyt and would
like to upgrade to Office XP Proffessional. When
purchased i was assured this would work but get a 1706
error message stating that the required files, ie previous
version of Office, are not found. Is there any way that i
can upgrade in the present configuration? While i have a
previous version of Office Small Business (2000) i have
moved and can not find my key.

No, it's confusing, but cross-grades aren't possible. Whoever assured you
that this would work should be more than willing to give your money back.

If it's an OEM copy, contact the company that preinstalled it on the
computer. The OEM
supplier is responsible for supporting the copies they install.
