Office07 Outlook Address Issue

I recently transferred Outlook data from Office 97 (XP) to Office 07 (Vista)
and haven't found a way to make the address book use the contacts list. When
I open the contacts properties, the option to "use contacts in address book"
is not accessible. Any ideas?

Thanks, Ann

the solution doesn't seem to apply to office 07. the address book is listed
in my address book profile, but the option to make "use contacts in address
book" is not clickable. any other thoughts?

Then the Outlook Address Book service is broken and you need to create a new
mail profile.

I've got the same problem, and have read the posts in this discussion.
Nothing has helped, though. I need to delete out-of-date entries in the
address book and can't seem to find out where it lives to edit it. And I had
the same "grayed out check box" issue mentioned here and elsewhere. I
created a new mail profile, checked it out with success, and deleted the old
profile, assuming it was corrupt. But still cannot get that check box to be
"live." And every time I type certain names, the auto-fill is incorrect.
Can you help?

Then you've created or configured the mail profile incorrectly. Describe
the exact steps you used.
