OL 2002 SP3 Messages hang in outbox

test of account setup confirms all working OK
uable to monitor progress on tas bar at bottom..shows what looks like a hard
drive.

Any suggestions appreciated.

The hard drive icon indicates on- or offline. A normal icon is online. An
icon with an X indicates offline.

Enable diagnostic logging (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=300479) and see
if Outlook is properly talking to the server. If you can't follow what the
log contains, post it here and someone should be able to help.

Many Thanks Brian,

As result of your suggestion , with no activity logged, I dertemined that
the "work off line " box was checked, and of course the work remained in the
out box. .
Also learned that the little box /line and X iocn in status bar means "OFF
LINE"...duH
