OL 2003 telephone numbers

I entered the phone number of a contact in the appropriate fields of the
'check telephone number'-window (example: country= 'belgium', area code =
'56', local nr= '22 22 22'). When I reopen this window, all the information
is stored as one number in the local number-field ('+32 (56) 222222'). When
I close the 'check telephone number'-window, Outlook tries to add the
country-code again ('+32 3256222222')
This happens with some of my contacts, other contacts are displayed
correctly. Removal of the contact and re-entering the information does not
solve the problem. Anyone has a clue why this happens, and how to solve it?
