OL 97 pst question

I have an associate who is going to upgrade from Win 98SE to Win 2K or XP
AND upgrading to OL 2K.
QUESTION:
Does OL 97 use the outlook.pst file as OL2K does? If so, can he re-name
that file, install OL2K, then use the 97 pst file?

PST formats are the same. Just copy and reuse the file by opening it in the
other installation of Outlook. Do not rename it.
