OL2000: Clicking hyperlinks in HTML e-mail

I

Ivan Bútora

I find that in some cases, clicking a hyperlink does not do anything, while in other cases the default internet browser is launched properly. I have not been able to figure out when the former happens and when the latter.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ivan

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. I've looked at the source code of two HTML messages, where in one case clicking on a link in the message launched the browser and in the other case nothing happened. In both cases, those were standard HTML links with the <a>link</a> syntax.

What she means is that you've given so little information that
troubleshooting the problem for people who can't see your computer is
difficult to say the least.

All I can say is that when I encounter one of the HTML messages where clicking links doesn't do anything, I'll examine the source code again and attach the message in my posting to the newsgroup.

Did you try IE's Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Reset Web Settings.

OK, I've determined that usually the problem is because the links do not fully conform to the <a href="address">link</a> syntax, i.e. there is something extra there that messes it up and Outlook doesn't launch the browser in such case. So it seems not to be a problem in Outlook after all.
Thanks,
Ivan
